What will the alert look like?

A notification will appear on your phone accompanied by a siren sound and virbrations, which will switch off afterwards. There is no need to respond or download anything.

The alert will be sent to 4G and 5G smartphones, but not older 3G models.

Why is it happening?

To test the Government’s new emergency alert system, which will be used to notify people of extreme weather events and public health emergencies.

It will not collect personal data.
