Major work on New Elvet Bridge is due to start on 20 July 2020, for which the bridge will have to be closed. The works will last approximately 14 months. The County Council hopes to reopen the bridge in September 2021.
Cllr Richard Ormerod said:
“Clearly this will cause major upheaval for residents and visitors to the city. Your councillors recognise that it is necessary but will be pushing for the bridge to reopen sooner if possible.”
