The first phase (Gilesgate bank and the inbound A690) of the Gilesgate roundabout works is now under way, with the second phase starting later this week.  This phase (2b) will see the A690 outbound fast lane closed for six weeks.

As this will be in operation during peak times it may result in some delays and disruption during the evening rush hour.

On Wednesday 3 February there will be traffic management (cones) in place for one day on the A690 inbound slow lane, off peak hours only.

“Inevitably there will be some disruption for residents, but I am sure it will be worth it to get the improvements we have asked for.”
