The next stage of the Gilesgate Bank Improvement Project (started in 2014) is planting of trees and grasses to make the roundabout look better.

Funding for the work was secured by Councillors Richard Ormerod and David Freeman.

Focus Team member Carole Lattin, who lives in Gilesgate, said:

“There are 14 new great white cherry trees as well as a mixture of different grasses such as verbena, allium, carex and stipa.
“Once established it will really brighten up the area, and tree planting is great for the environment.”
