Great news – Freeman’s Quay Swimming Pool to reopen on 10 August.

Swimmers are also being advised to expect a number of changes to allow for social distancing and to reflect public health advice.

Activity will be limited to lane swimming throughout the week, with some family fun sessions at weekends and aqua fit classes. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

In order to limit the risk of spreading coronavirus, usual shower, changing and locker facilities will not be available. Instead, swimmers will be asked to wear their costumes under their clothes when arriving for their swim session. They will then be allocated a chair at the side of the pool where they can leave their clothes and any other belongings. Changing facilities will be available when exiting the pool.

Your councillors are pleased that swimming can start again but hope that things can get fully back to normal as soon as possible.
